IBC SOLAR and Partners to Light Up Jogébed Children's Home with Sustainable Energy

IBC SOLAR, a leading full service provider of solar energy solution, announces the winner of the Nelson Mandela Day contest. In this regard, the Jogébed Children's Home will receive a comprehensive solar installation of about 6kW. This initiative is the result of a collaboration with LONGi Solar, Solar MD, SMA, and EMC Electrical Reticulation and aligns with the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day, which inspires communities to take action and drive positive change. The installation of the solar system will start on August 1st.

On Nelson Mandela Day, we celebrate by taking action to inspire change and make a positive impact in our communities. The public was encouraged to nominate a non-profit organisation via social media to receive a solar system. After careful consideration of the nomination criteria and technical viability of installation, Jogébed Children's Home was chosen. The home won a complete solar system, which includes a 7.7kWp Longi, a 6kW Sunny Island, a 14.3kWh Solar MD, IBC SOLAR mounting, and installation by EMC Electrical Reticulation.

“We are excited to visit Jogébed Children's Home at the end of the month for the installation and to spend some quality time with the wonderful children there”, says Arno Odendaal, Head of Projects at IBC SOLAR South Africa. “Together, we are bringing sustainable energy and a brighter future to those who need it most.” This solar system will make a significant contribution to Jogébed Children's Home by providing a reliable and sustainable energy source, reducing electricity costs, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply. This improvement will enhance the living conditions and overall well-being of the children, enabling the home to allocate more resources towards their care and development.

Daniel Haitzler, Managing Director of IBC SOLAR South Africa, adds: "We are thrilled to be part of this meaningful project. Providing sustainable energy solutions to Jogébed Children's Home not only supports the environment but also significantly improves the quality of life for the children. It's a testament to how we can all make a difference when we come together."
